Collage & Care Workshop
In this guided collage workshop, participants are invited to explore their experiences, identities, and ideas of care through the creative process. Using magazines, photographs, textures, words, and mixed media, each person creates a unique artwork that reflects what care, belonging, community, and resilience mean to them.
There is no right or wrong way to create. Whether your collage tells a personal story, expresses an emotion, or imagines a better future, every piece contributes to a larger conversation about how we care for ourselves and one another.
As part of Dr. Bishop Owis' arts-based research project, these workshops use creativity as a way to share knowledge beyond words. The artworks and discussions will help inform a community-driven understanding of ethical, culturally responsive, and accessible models of care, centering the lived experiences and voices of disabled QTBIPOC communities.
