About the event
Grow Where You're Planted: Rooted in Truth is a community storytelling project created in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture. Through filmed interviews and conversations, the project documents the lived experiences of individuals whose stories are connected to food, culture, agriculture, and community.
As Creative Director, I led the creative vision, interview development, visual storytelling, and production to ensure each participant's story was shared with authenticity and care. The project focused on amplifying voices that are often overlooked, preserving community knowledge, and demonstrating how food, identity, and place are deeply connected.
By creating a platform for people to share their journeys, Grow Where You're Planted encourages dialogue, celebrates diverse perspectives, and highlights the importance of representation in shaping stronger, more connected communities. The project reflects my commitment to using creativity as a tool for education, cultural preservation, and social impact.
