Jakob - Whxteout

Whiteout series, Jakob explores the layered experience of being a Black child adopted into a white family. It's about love, belonging, identity, gratitude, confusion, and the questions that don't always have simple answers.
This work doesn't try to choose between opposing experiences. It holds them together. It reflects the moments of acceptance, the moments of isolation, and everything in between. The beauty, the discomfort, and the lifelong process of understanding where you come from while discovering who you're becoming.
Jakob is an invitation to sit with the complexity of adoption, family, and identity; to recognize that more than one truth can exist at the same time.
